The tidal waters of the estuary ebb and flow, flooding and then draining from a network of valleys that spread like fingers from Salcombe up to Kingsbridge. Frogmore is the longest of these watery arms with the village clustered tightly around the head of the creek. It is a popular area for bird watchers with regular sightings of redshanks, greenshanks, shelducks, curlews and grebes.
